I love that definition Doddsy - but sadly in many categories, premium is more linked to status perception than continuous performance or genuine exclusivity.
In Asia, 'luxury' has basically lost its definition because now it simply equates to price point - how utterly depressing.
PS: I can't stand the t-mobile ad. It's not that it's badly done ... or that it's irrelevant [infact there is a bigger idea in 'communication infectiousness'] but it's been done countless times before and relatively recently to.
If you're going to rip someone off, do an old thing, not something that you can remember the original of. God, adland is becoming like the record industry - except less creative.
My point about the t-mobile spot was yes you're right but you're obsessed by this stuff whereas most people are unaware and thus might find I original.
In similar vein, this premium definition is something I found in the unpublished file of the blog - I don't know if I heard it or it's mine but since I Googled the phrase and couldn't find anything, I can't give it an attribution.
