'Dont slam the door' presents an negative image of a door slamming, whereas 'close the door quietly' creates a more positive image.

Now that's what I call presuppositions - staple of any hypnotist's linguistic toolbox!
'Do you think you'll find it easier to relax with your eyes open or your eyes closed?'
'Would you prefer to go into trance quickly or slowly?'
That's not marketing, that's selling! :-)
Closed questions like this were always a famous selling technique in the business software industry when I was part of it (and in just about any industry sales) ... would you prefer the 12 month service contract, or I can get you into a 36 month one for only half price if you prefer? should I book our consultant to start Monday, or would you prefer the 1st of next month? etc
